I recently received the news that I had terminal pancreatic cancer, and would be well advised to immediately begin steps to sell my dental practice. Of course it was unplanned and so no prior planning or steps had been made. My first thought was to call Dan Lewis, since I have always heard that he is the best, the most experienced, and the most pleasant to work with. I knew that he was the kind of man who remembered my name after selling me about $2.00 worth of dental burs across the street from Baylor Dental School 35 years ago.
Dan and his son, Aaron, have performed so far beyond expectations that I feel compelled to write this thank you. They are God fearing people who put decency, fairness and compassion above all else. Every aspect of their duties was done with speed, accuracy and an obvious broad base of knowledge and experience. Even the most innocuous communications had my approval before dissemination, and the huge, never ending details were managed seemingly effortlessly. The myriad number of practice situations demands acute focus and customization, and I guess I was most impressed when my attorney pored at length over a 32 page document (only one of several) and remarked “I don’t know where you found this guy, but he really knows what he is doing”. As one might expect, eventually, last minute unexpected difficulties arose, and even these were handled with calm, kind and competent expertise.
