Congratulations to Dr. Erika Mendez on acquiring the general dentistry practice of Dr. John Huggins in Irving, TX in August 2021. After 37 years of successfully practicing dentistry and creating long-term relationships with many of his patients, Dr. Huggins decided it was time to hang up the handpiece. In order to ensure that his patients continued to receive the best possible care, Dr. Huggins met several candidates in order to find the best fit as his successor. After meeting with Dr. Mendez, he was confident she was the one and even decided to see Dr. Mendez for his own dental needs moving forward.
Dr. Mendez graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then went on to complete her dental education at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. She has advanced training in several aspects of restorative and cosmetic dentistry and strives to stay up to date with the latest techniques and technology to best serve her patients. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Mendez practiced as an Associate dentist in Frisco for five years.
